About Us

Steven G.

I am new to Wargaming but I’ve been in the hobby space for about 10 years now. I was lucky enough to run some demo games at our local game store. I’m a very nervous and anti social person but my wife convinced me to try and it was well worth it. I was able to meet Noah and some other gamers as well. This has jumpstarted my wargaming experience and now we try to run a weekly game and if we’re lucky 2 games a week. I love the story telling aspect of the games and really try to lean into it. I have a deep background in strategy games and draw a lot of inspiration from those experiences. I have a beautiful rescue dog named penny and she gives me so much of my energy. I look forward to sharing my painting and battle reports with you all.

I am a veteran of almost ten years gaming now, after being a prolific strategy videogamer for some time. I always wanted to get into wargaming but didn’t get the chance until college. I began with Warhammer Fantasy Battles, and quickly got into 40k, Horus Heresy, Flames of War and more. When I returned to Colorado I worked up the energy to go to a game at the local store and was lucky enough to meet Steven. My passion for history, fantasy, and sci fi propel me through a haze of different games and projects I am excited to share with you all!

Crash and Burn Hobbies

Together, Steven and I decided to make this blog because we wanted to share our hobby with others, most importantly the stories the minis tell. While many enjoy gaming as a means to prove tactical or operational acumen, a competitive joust, or other reasons, I think Steven and I enjoy wargaming because of the heroic, hilarious, and heinous stories it can tell. From our Napoleonic escapades fighting to capture British diplomats from the ruins of an alternative history Danzig, to siblings battling in the outskirts of Berlin, the dice help us shape a narrative that we create as players and a community. Some games we play are a little more obscure and that’s another element we think we can help share. Additionally we can use this as a platform to show our works in progress, terrain, and hobby projects which may help to inspire you to go roll the dice.
